eRank Review: Is this Etsy SEO tool worth it?
Review of eRank
Are you an Etsy shop owner looking for a complete eRank review?
I first heard about eRank from Julie who I interviewed here about her successful digital product shop on Etsy.
On a side note, Julie now teaches her Etsy success strategies in this Gold City Ventures course.
Since our interview, I took her course and have been using both the free and paid versions of eRank for a few years.

In this article, we are going to look at the price, the different features, and whether eRank is worth it or not worth it.
As Etsy business owners, one of the most important things to focus on is getting your products to show up at the top of the search results.
This is how you can get your product listings in front of more customers which can lead to more sales.
But, too many Etsy sellers struggle to make their shop more profitable because they spend their time doing the wrong things like rebranding their shop five times or creating 100 new products that no one is searching for.
While these tasks can be a helpful part of the learning process, they are not the key to finding more customers.
eRank focuses instead on powerful analytics that will help you make strategic decisions, which will in turn actually help boost your business.
Not only do they help you optimize your shop, product page, listing, and product description itself, but they also have other useful tools and unique features that we are going to look at in this blog post.
If you haven’t gotten started on Etsy yet, you can get your first 40 listings for FREE here.

eRank Pricing
eRank offers different plans for Etsy sellers, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs and budget.
This includes the following eRank plans:
- Free plan
- Basic plan
- Pro plan
- Expert plan
There are cost savings in choosing one of the annual plans, but the monthly plans are a great option to fit in your monthly expenses. eRank gives you the option to choose which will work best for you.
While each plan offers the same tools, there are limitations depending on what plan you are signed up with.
For example, in the keyword tool, you get 100 lookups per day on the basic plan and 500 lookups per day on the expert plan.
So, if you want more access to the tools and features, you will need a paid plan.
However, their free account option is great, especially for beginners. You get access to all the same tools and features so you can start to grow your Etsy shop.
To see the differences between each plan, eRank has put together a helpful pricing table which you can see here.
You might be wondering, should I get a paid eRank plan or just stick with the free plan?
Start with the free plan and get familiar with the platform and options available.
As you get comfortable with how eRank works, consider upgrading to the basic plan as it unlocks a lot more features, like you can track your competitors and see the top sellers.
How To Use eRank
Using eRank is very easy and it only takes a few minutes to get started.
Firstly, you will need to create an eRank account and choose your plan.
Once that is done, connect your Etsy shop to eRank by logging into eRank, hover over the person icon in the top right-hand corner and click on “Connect Another Shop”.
You’ll then be prompted to “Allow Access” to your Etsy shop if you’re already logged into your Etsy shop on the same browser.
Once you’ve done that, eRank will start collecting data about your shop and will provide you with detailed reports and statistics including your number of active listings, your number of sales and how your shop ranks globally.
You’ll also see which keywords are working best and what competitors are doing differently.
eRank will also give you tips on how to optimize your listings for better visibility, as well as help you keep track of your shop’s performance over time.
Below are best practices on how to use the different tools and features, as well as guidance on what to get started with based on the status of your Etsy shop.
Best Practices To Use eRank
There are a lot of features you can use on eRank, but below are the best ones in my opinion.
Listings Audit
Once you’ve connected your Etsy shop to eRank, you’ll see a listings audit that will show you how your listings can be improved.
It will highlight:
- Spelling issues
- Missing attributes (like colors, material type, occasion if it’s occasion-related)
- Missing tags (because Etsy encourages you to use all 13 tags)
- Missing images (because Etsy wants you to use all 10 image areas)
- One-word tags (eRank encourages you to use multi-word tags so that your keyword is even more targeted and it also frees up another keyword for use).
Using this analysis, you can immediately see where the opportunities are to have more optimized listings.
You can also see which listings are spotted on Etsy (found in the top 2 pages of search results for that particular keyword).
This can help you understand what you’re doing well so you can consider replicating the practices that you used for that listing or just adding another variation of that listing to give customers more options.
Track Competitors
You can also track competitor sales.
With the basic plan, you can track up to 5 different competitors of your choice and see their daily sales (up to 1 week), which is invaluable to understanding how their performance is changing compared to your own Etsy shop’s performance.
For example, if you have lower sales in a day, you can see from comparing your competitor’s performance if it’s because of the current trend or because you need to change things up in your Etsy store.
If you want to track more stores, with the Pro plan, you can track up to 50 shops and with the Expert plan, you can track up to 200 shops.
You can also see the top 100 sellers on Etsy in terms of most number of sales of all time and most sales yesterday.
While you should never copy anyone’s products or listings, checking out these top Etsy shops and their products, listings and practices will help you understand what’s working.
For example, you might see that one of the Etsy shops is offering more or trending color options or has implemented a unique promotion opportunity, e.g. providing a freebie with every purchase.
You might see different product opportunities that will inspire you to come up with new and better product ideas!
Look for High Volume, Lower Competition Keywords
The best way to look up the best keywords is to go to the “Tools” part of the menu and click on “Keyword Tool”.
Enter in the keyword you’re interested in.
Scroll down to check out the most popular tags and the highest searched keywords with the lowest competition.
You should also scroll down to see what the Top Listings are for that keyword and see what keywords these top listings are using to give you ideas of other keywords to search for and how to best price out your product so it’s competitively priced.
Also, I recently came across this eRank keyword research workflow tutorial video that’s really helpful to find the best long-tail keywords:
